Redumax Inc. respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with applicable laws, including Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector. This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") applies to all collection and processing of your personal information by Redumax Inc., including when you use the website www.redumax.ca (the "Website"), whether accessed by smartphone or computer, including online purchases on the Website or in the course of any other interaction with you. Redumax Inc. takes the protection of its customers' privacy seriously, and we hope this Policy helps you understand how we use your personal information. You will find information here about our practices and your rights.

The terms "you" and "your" refer to the person whose personal information is collected or processed by Redumax Inc. The terms "Redumax," "we," "us," and "our" refer to Redumax Inc.

1. What Is Personal Information?

Redumax applies the definition of "personal information" provided by applicable laws. Privacy laws in Canada generally define "personal information" as any information about an identifiable individual. This includes information that can be used alone or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a specific person. Information from which all direct and indirect identifiers have been removed (i.e., personal information anonymized in accordance with the law) is not personal information.

2. What Categories of Personal Information Do We Collect?

We may collect, use, store, and transfer the following categories of personal information:

  • customer data: such as first name, last name, email, phone number, and address;
  • transactional data: purchase history and shipping information;
  • combined data: the combination of personal data and transactional data;
  • technical data: such as cookies, behavioural data (browsing history, search history, chat conversation history, and interactions with our Website and online ads), unique identifiers, Internet Protocol (IP) address, and geolocation information;
  • financial data (sensitive): such as transaction details (amount, order number, billing number, etc.). Your complete credit card information is collected and processed directly by our secure payment provider and is not retained by Redumax (see Section 8).

We may also collect, use, store, and transfer the following categories of personal information about our employees and candidates applying for employment with Redumax:

  • background check information, where relevant to the position and with your consent, including criminal record and copies of identity documents;
  • emergency information, including emergency contact details, health status, and allergies;
  • identity information, including date of birth, education history, residential address, and information related to a passport or other document that helps us determine your right to work in Canada; and
  • technical information, including your username(s), your identifier(s), a log of successful and failed attempts to connect to Redumax systems, your location when using Redumax systems, and information about the device you use to access Redumax resources.

If you provide Redumax with the personal information of another person (for example, family members), you represent that you have obtained all necessary consents from that person to authorize us to collect, use, and disclose their personal information for the purposes set out in this Policy.

By providing us with this personal information, sending us an email, or visiting our Website, you are communicating with us electronically. You then consent to receive non-commercial electronic communications from us, whether by Internet, email, SMS, or notices posted on our Website in accordance with the Policy. Commercial communications (promotions, newsletter) are sent to you only with your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

You agree that by transmitting agreements, notices, information, and other communications to you electronically, we comply with any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.

3. How Do We Collect Your Personal Information?

We use various methods to collect your personal information, including the following:

a) Direct interactions. When you communicate with us, you may provide us with your personal information, for example at the following times:

  • When you complete a form on our Website to subscribe to our newsletter.
  • When you complete contact or inquiry forms on our Website, we request access to your contact information, namely your name, phone number (optional), and email address.
  • When you complete your purchases, we collect your first name, last name (your company name if applicable), delivery address (including province, city, postal code, and country), email, and phone number. You may also indicate a company name, but this is not required for the transaction.
  • When you proceed to payment, your credit card information (number, CVV, expiry date) is collected directly by our secure payment provider. You will need to enter your billing address if it differs from the delivery address.
  • When you apply for a job through a spontaneous application on our Website, you must provide several pieces of personal information, namely your name, address, city, email, and phone or mobile number. You must also attach your resume, which contains additional personal information under your control, including your employment history.
  • When you create an account with us, you must provide your name, email, and password. Your account optionally contains your default billing and delivery addresses, which you can modify at any time. You can also view your product reviews and your wish list.
  • When you voluntarily provide your personal information during a communication with us by any other means.

Identity theft is prohibited when submitting personal information on our Website. All requests must be made under a real name with the other required information.

b) Indirect interactions. We collect certain personal information about you indirectly from our service providers with whom you also do business. This is the case when we receive your application for a vacant position through a recruitment agency, or when we obtain your contact and identity information for marketing purposes from a third party, where permitted by law. Any indirect collection of your personal information is done in accordance with this Policy, any privacy policy of the service provider in question, and applicable laws.

c) Automated technologies or interactions. When you interact with our Website, we may automatically collect technical personal information and Internet activity information about the computer equipment used, as well as browsing measurements and trends. We collect this information using cookies, pixels, server logs, and other similar technologies, in accordance with Section 11 of this Policy. Technologies that are not strictly necessary for the operation of the Website are activated only with your consent.

4. Why Do We Collect and Use Your Personal Information?

We may use your personal information for the purposes for which it was collected, in accordance with this Policy, for other purposes permitted by law, or with your consent.

We may use the information collected for the following purposes:

  • To communicate with you when you request it, including when you use the "Send a Request" form on our Website or, generally, to follow up on requests for information about our products and services;
  • To send you our newsletter, when you have chosen to subscribe;
  • When you make online purchases, including for payment and financing purposes;
  • With Shopify, service providers, and other third parties who provide services on our behalf (for example, IT management, payment processing, data analysis, customer service, cloud storage, processing, and shipping);
  • To communicate with you by email or SMS to deliver purchased products and allow you to track delivery;
  • With your consent, to communicate with you by email or SMS to inform you of our promotions, sales, events, and new products. You may also receive reminders if you have abandoned a product in your cart, or if a product you want that was no longer available becomes available again;
  • When you complete forms for contests or surveys;
  • To allow you to submit a spontaneous job application online;
  • When you create an account with us;
  • When you share our products or our Website through your social media;
  • To facilitate your browsing, as explained in more detail in Section 11;
  • To ensure the security of your financial transactions and our Website, to prevent and detect fraud, or for training purposes.

You can always choose not to receive promotional material from Redumax.

5. Who Has Access to Your Personal Information?

Internally, access to personal information operates on a "need-to-know" basis, meaning our employees do not have access to your personal information unless it is necessary for the performance of their duties.

6. To Whom Do We Disclose Your Personal Information?

Except as provided below, Redumax does not disclose your personal information to organizations or third parties without your consent unless required or authorized by law. It is important to know that Redumax never sells your personal information to third parties. We require all third parties to respect the security of your personal information and to process it in accordance with the law. We do not allow our third-party service providers to use your personal information for their own purposes, and we only authorize them to process your personal information for specific purposes and in accordance with our instructions and this Policy.

These third parties fall into one of the following categories of recipients:

  • our product delivery providers, as we must ensure you receive your products at the correct address;
  • our advertising partners, such as our advertising agency and our advertising or customer management software;
  • our service providers who help us accomplish the purposes for which your personal information was collected, including server hosting providers who help us store your personal information;
  • service providers who help us conduct demographic studies on visitors to our Website and on candidates for our job postings;
  • law enforcement or government agencies in connection with an investigation into actual or potential fraud, a violation of a law, regulation, or the terms of use of our Website, or for the protection of the rights, property, or safety of Redumax, our customers/users, or our partners;
  • an acquiring entity in connection with the completion or proposal of a business transaction (including liquidation, realization, seizure, or repossession), a concession, merger, business combination, or any other type of acquisition, liquidation, transfer, or financing of Redumax, in whole or in part.

We may be required to disclose your personal information to third parties in order to comply with our obligations under a law or regulation, an investigation conducted by a government authority, or to comply with an order of a court or other administrative or governmental authority, such as a subpoena. When we receive such requests, we perform the necessary verifications to ensure they are lawful and, where possible, we inform you of this data processing.

In all cases, we only disclose your personal information where permitted by law.

Your personal information may be transferred to other jurisdictions for processing and storage, including outside Quebec. Before disclosing personal information outside Quebec, we conduct a privacy impact assessment, as required by law, to ensure the information receives adequate protection. The privacy laws of other jurisdictions may differ from those of your jurisdiction, and law enforcement authorities in those jurisdictions may access your personal information.

7. How Do We Protect Your Personal Information?

Redumax has implemented reasonable physical, electronic, and administrative measures to protect your personal information against accidental loss and unauthorized access, use, modification, and disclosure.

To prevent unauthorized access to your user profile on our Website, please keep your password confidential, maintain the accuracy of the personal information associated with your profile, and notify us of any unauthorized use of your account.

While Redumax makes reasonable efforts to protect your personal information, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We recommend exercising caution when transmitting information over the Internet.

Confidentiality incidents. If a confidentiality incident involving your personal information occurs, we will take reasonable measures to reduce the risk of harm and prevent similar incidents from recurring. We maintain a register of confidentiality incidents and, if an incident presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify the Commission d'accès à l'information and the affected individuals, in accordance with the law.

8. How Long Do We Keep Your Personal Information?

Your personal information is stored on the secure servers of our service providers, including servers that may be located outside Quebec or Canada.

In accordance with applicable laws and regulations, we retain your personal information only as long as necessary to achieve the purposes for which we collected it, including to satisfy any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

Please note that payments are processed by our secure payment provider. Redumax does not retain your full credit card number or security code (CVV). Only the elements necessary for transaction tracking (such as the last four digits of the card, the amount, and the order number) are accessible to us.

When personal information collected is no longer required by Redumax, the necessary procedures to destroy, delete, erase, or anonymize it are applied in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

9. Children Under 14

The protection of children's personal information is extremely important. Redumax recognizes its responsibility to protect children's privacy and does not intend to collect personal information from children under 14 without the consent of the person having parental authority.

Our Website is not intended for children under 14. No person under 14 may provide personal information on our Website. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14. If you are under 14, do not use our Website and do not provide us with information about yourself, including your name, address, phone number, or email address. If we learn that we have collected or received personal information from a child under 14 without the consent of the person having parental authority, we will delete that information.

10. Your Rights Regarding Your Personal Information

Subject to certain exceptions provided by law, you have the following rights with respect to your personal information that we hold:

a) Your right of access

You have the right to access your personal information that we hold and to receive a general account of our use of that personal information. Upon receipt of a written request from you, we will confirm whether we are processing your personal information and, subject to applicable exemptions, provide you with a copy of your personal information. In certain limited circumstances, we may not be able to make all relevant personal information available to you, for example where that information also concerns another individual. We respond to all requests within 30 days of receipt, in accordance with the law. If you request additional copies, reasonable transcription, reproduction, or transmission fees may apply; we will inform you in advance.

b) Your right of rectification

If the personal information we hold about you is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to have it rectified. You may also provide written comments to be added to your file. If you are entitled to rectification and we have disclosed your personal information to third parties, we will inform them of the rectification where possible. If you have an account with us, you can access and modify most of your personal information directly in your account.

c) Your right to control dissemination

You have the right to control the dissemination of your personal information. As such, you may ask us to de-index (i.e., remove from search results) any hyperlink associated with your name that provides access to your personal information if the underlying dissemination of your personal information contravenes the law or a court order, or if it causes serious harm to your reputation or privacy. This also includes your right to re-index (i.e., have appear in search results) any hyperlink associated with your name where this may prevent the perpetuation of serious harm to your reputation or privacy.

d) Your right to portability

You have the right to obtain, in a structured and commonly used technological format, the computerized personal information you have provided to us, or to request that it be communicated to a person or organization authorized by law to collect it.

e) Your right to erasure

You may ask us to delete or remove your personal information in certain circumstances, for example where we no longer need your information for the purposes for which it was collected, or if you withdraw your consent (where your consent is the legal basis for our processing). If you are entitled to erasure of your personal information and we have disclosed it to third parties, we will take reasonable steps to inform them. Where we are required to delete your personal information, we will provide you with written confirmation of the removal.

f) Your right to withdraw your consent

If we rely on your consent as the legal basis for processing your personal information, you have the right to withdraw it at any time. This withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdrew your consent. If you withdraw your consent, we may not be able to provide you with certain services, such as those mentioned in Section 4 above. If this is the case, we will inform you at the time of withdrawal.

You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email communication.

11. Cookies and Ad Retargeting

Ad retargeting consists of the use of cookies and similar technologies, such as pixels, to better understand and analyze your behaviour across different websites and to present you with relevant products.

By default, only cookies strictly necessary for the operation of our Website are activated. Non-essential cookies (such as those used for personalization, analytics, or advertising) are activated only with your consent, which you can give or withdraw at any time through our cookie management tool. Please note that without certain cookies, you may not be able to access some features of our Website.

When you consent, we use cookies on our Website to:

  • improve online customer service and the functionality of our Website;
  • personalize the content of our Website; and
  • provide a more secure experience.

When you consent, our advertisements on social media platforms, such as Facebook, may be targeted based on demographic and geographic data, and these platforms may allow us to show you products you have shown interest in. By combining these platforms and analytics tools such as Google Analytics, we can obtain aggregated demographic information about our visitors, which may include age, gender, preferred language, interests, and location. You can also manage your advertising preferences directly with these platforms.

12. Links to Other Websites

Please note that our Website may offer links to other sites operated by other entities, for example when you click on the Facebook or YouTube link. Redumax has no control over sites operated by other entities and assumes no responsibility by listing them on our Website. Any information you transmit to websites operated by other entities will be subject to the privacy policies applicable on those websites.

13. Relationship with Shopify

Our online store is hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal information about your access to and use of our store in order to provide us with e-commerce services and improve them. The information you submit will be transmitted to and shared with Shopify, as well as with third parties that may be located in countries other than the one where you reside, in order to provide and improve the services. In addition, to protect, develop, and improve our business, we may use certain enhanced Shopify features that incorporate data and information from your interactions with our store, with other merchants, and with Shopify. In these circumstances, Shopify is responsible for processing your personal information, including responding to your requests to exercise your rights regarding the use of your personal information for these purposes.

14. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Policy to adapt it to any legal, technological, or business changes. The current version is published at all times on our Website, along with its update date.
